About the Artist: Sarah Cummings

Ever since I could remember, I've always had a deep love and fascination with animals! I have so many fond memories in my childhood, many of which involved animals, such as going to the state fair and seeing the horses, going to an insect museum, going to the zoo, reading animal books, and so much more. 

The best way I could express how  much I love animals is through art. I would draw for hours and hours, doodling animals of all kinds. I have also dabbled in digital art, sculpture, pottery, pastels, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, and colored pencils. Through my exploration of different art mediums, I have found oil painting to be by far the most enjoyable medium. The richness and texture of oils is most appealing to me.

As an animal lover and pet owner, I'm very familiar with the special bond between human and animal. Every animal is a unique individual, and I try to capture that uniqueness. When I'm not painting, I'm often spending time with my many pets. I also enjoy horseback riding, fly fishing, bird watching, photographing wildlife, and taxidermy!
