Pet Portrait Commissions

Interested in getting a portrait of your beloved pet? Or it could be a custom wildlife painting? Please contact me, which can be done through my email s.cummingsfineart@gmail.com or call/text (208) 810-8247 And we can discuss!  :)

If you plan on calling, either leave a message or text first. I won't respond to dms on Instagram in regard to commissions and sales to avoid scams.

I do all kinds of animals. Dogs, cats, horses, birds, reptiles, and pretty much any animal you can think of! To see some examples, check out the portfolio.

Portrait Pricing

  • Below is a general guide on what to expect price-wise of your pet portrait.  Depending on the complexity of the background, price may be increased. All of this will be discussed through email during the initial planning stages of the painting.

  • I will do larger paintings, price will be discussed via email

  • Shipping is included in the price. US shipping only at the moment.

  • If you live locally in the Mountain Home ID to Boise ID area, pricing will be lower

Payment

  • Commissions require a 50% payment upfront. The remaining 50% will be due upon completion.

  • Changes in the initial sketch/underpainting stage are unlimited and free of charge. However, once the coloring and detail is being done, changes will be charged and additional time may be added. One free adjustment to the painting is allowed in the later stage. Any additional changes will be charged $30 per change.

  • I accept payment through PayPal. If meeting in person, I will accept cash or check

Reference Photos

  • Important: Photos of your pet must be clear and relatively high quality. Good paintings require good photos!

  • Photos must be sent to my email s.cummingsfineart@gmail.com

  • I may make exceptions if you only have lower quality photos of a deceased pet. My paintings closely follow the reference photo, so if the photos are blurry, expect the painting to be of similar quality.

  • It's highly encouraged to send me multiple photos. It's useful for me to get a good view of the pet's anatomy and fur patterns, which will help in getting a faithful representation of the animal's likeness. Many photos also allows me to play around with different concepts

Wait time

  • On average, most of the listed sizes will take about 6 weeks to complete. The drying time on the oil paints can be a little unpredictable, so I give myself the extra time. You might even get the painting sooner. If the painting is larger or more complex, then it can be anywhere from 2-3 months.
  • Updates will be sent via email or text, especially during the initial stages. And of course, I will be more than happy to give you updates upon request via text/email.
